INTRODUCTION
The department was started in the year 1995 at RMCH with Dr. Ashok Kumar Prasad as the head. The OPD service were started and consultation in liaison with all other departments.
FUTURE PLANS
Full strength faculty and staff appointment. Complete Psychiatric until with 30 bed in-patient facilities, separate for male & female. Establishment of DEADDICTION CENTRE & GERIATRIC CARE CENTRE. To obtain equipments like EEG, ECT, DBS,RTMS & Sleep Lab. To start Post Graduate (MD & DNB) in Psychiatry.
